Millikan Oil-Drop Experiment

Prof. Williams 4.20.2020 The Millikan Oil-Drop Purpose: The purpose of this experiment was to demonstrate the Millikan Oil-Drop experiment which was done 1909 by Robert Millikan. The purpose of this lab was determining the charge of Eq an electron by suspending charged oil droplets between two electrodes. In order to determine the charge, the voltage was set at the point so that the forces on drop let would be equal. Due to the gravity, there is downward gravitational force on the droplet, and due to the voltage, there is upward electric force. mg III.
