M5 The Imperative on Happiness This is a great Leadership Imperative. I too have only had fleeting moments of happiness and my happiness is like "dry" weeds, easily pulled up by the roots. I would like to enjoy and have the benefits of solid "happiness" that maintains itself regardless of outside events and occurrences. Upon considering Warren Buffet's quick mental exercise as a remedy to feeling less excited about life, I am sure that those classmates that I would like to own 10% of would be classmates who have the appearance of "happy" lives. What would that look like for me? Smiling faces, easy going demeanor, spontaneous laughter, song and dance. I would be in favor of owning 10% of classmates with those traits. On the other side, when I look at the qualities that turn me off, the 10% of classmates that I would like to trade, they would have characteristics that I wouldn't want to keep, like bad stock. The traits of the persons I would trade would be argumentative, critical, rigid in their thinking and generally not pleasant to be around. Warren Buffet says that the secret is to say to yourself that I want to be more like the classmates that I want to invest in. Making my happiness a priority, a top "investment" sounds like a great Leadership Imperative. I also chose the noun "rule" to assess the essential requirement of happiness as a leadership "rule".
