For my social science issue, I chose race and ethnicity. Growing up, I have always had
friends of a different race and come from a different ethnic background. Seeing what has been going on in the past year, I feel angry at the fact that people of different ethnicities are still being oppressed. Also, I feel concerned about my friends who are a different race. I would hate to see something happen to then just because the color of their skin. I would like to dig deeper into this topic and spread awareness to the fact that everyone should be treated equal, because everyone was created equal.
A social norm that applies to this issue would be social norms. I feel this way because for some horrible reason, people think that certain ethnicities do not belong. Also, I feel that it should be a social norm to have these different races and ethnicities to be able to live among society freely without being oppressed.
