Introduction:
Within the last decade, cyberbullying has become the main safety topic when we talk about children's and friends outside their home. Cyberbullying is a problem that always find his ways into the headlines while causing a lot of harm on the way. Once computer became accessible to the general population and accessible for home use people began to find ways to communication between each other, while at the same way cyberbullying made his way through the cyber space. Cyberbullying feeds from insecurities about oneself or another person feeling superior to someone else or a group of insecure people.
Impact on Society:
There many different types of cyberbullying going around in cyber space, to mention a few of them calls, messaging, video, comments and the new trend memes. Even though memes are utilized to entertain and make people laugh, it can have an adverse impact a person or a group of people that is beign targeted or in order words memed. Uinsg memes could have a positive impact for some, others may not care while for other this could have a negative impact on them or ruin their reputation in fornt of society. One example that we could use was, during the 2020 superbowl halftime where Jeniffer Lopez and Shakira brought a historic show. We find a part of the show where Shakira stick her tongue out and that became a meme and went viral.
Society Impact
Even though Cyber byllying is becoming a serious problem in todays society, hold the same base as the traditional way of bullying. Bullying will always feed from some kind of emotional raction from the other person, or it could be from the insecurities from the person perpetrating the action.
Individual Framework of Perception
Due to the negative implications of cyberbullying has on the person beign bully. People need to stand up and intervene everytime they are witenesseing someone beign bullying. This is a situation that need to be report it, intervention during and after can help allievitate the problem.
Field of study
I'm an aircrew school instructor teaching students adults of all ages. For years in the armed forces hassing was a norm, in order words bullying other sailors was the norm. Seeing the growth of technology and staying updated on the new trend could help understand and prevent bullying in and out of work, more importantly preventing bullying aournd social media as this new generation spend more time in the cyberspace.
Benefits and Challenges
Technology is going to keep growing and it will be imposible to control. Due to the fast pace living we are living now days for most adults will have a hard time recognizing the signs and symptoms of cyberbullying. With the challenges technology bring forth with need to come with a plan, which highlight the strengthts
