I have chosen to work with Dance of the Hours (La Gioconda) -- Amilcare Ponchielli.
This Italian composer was born in 1834 and died at the age of 52 in the year 1886. This piece
was created in 1876 and was first performed in Milan, April 1776. It was quite hard for me to
choose which piece I wanted to work with for this course. I had listened to all of the songs in the
Spotify playlist but still wasn't sure. So, I decided to watch Fantasia for the first time. I chose
this one because it was my favorite to watch how it came to life with the animation. The whole
thing was cool, but this part was the most creative to me. The animation fit the music so well,
and it was the music I enjoyed the most the entire time.
