Business Law Project 2
The WH framework is the option that is appropriate for the company. In this framework.
the company has many guidelines that will help with understanding of if a decision is ethical
The first step is to ask "whom will this decision affect?". Will it affect the consumer, owners or
invertors, employers, community, management, or future generations? The second part is the
how (guidelines) Golden Rule, Universalization and Public disclosure.
The stakeholders are the people affected by the decision. Once this is determined, we
move on to the second steps. One will be the Golden Rule which is to do, treat and react to others
the same way that you would like to be treated or interacted with. Another will be the public
disclosure test, which entails that you need to act in a way that if you are exposed there will be
nothing to hide and that you would not be ashamed to make your actions public. A third
guideline will be the Universalization Test, in this test you have to focus on the other person
whom will be affected by your actions.
In this case the "who" will be the costumers. The ones that imputed their personal
information to a data base believing that it will be safe. The test that I would select will be the
Golden Rule. I believe that it is appropriate foe this case as it will help one understand the
deepen of the decision a how it will affect the other person. It will have you asking yourself:
Would I like to have my information breached and not be informed of it? Is this decision
morally, ok? How can this effect the person at the other end of the situation? If it was me, would
I want to continue with a company that does not share such important information?
