1-3 Short Paper: Elevator Pitch
For this paper, the elevator pitch I chose is:
"My name is Sarah, and I run a trucking company. It's a family-owned business,
and we think the personal touch makes a big difference to our customers. Not only do we
guarantee on-time delivery, but my father and I personally answer the phones, not an
automated system."
The first sentence states what the business is and who the owner is. In the 2nd sentence,
she states that she is a family-oriented business. This could be valuable to any investors because
they will understand that she knows the business well. Having a personal touch can sway a
customer's decision to give them a chance. In the next sentence, she state that they can
guarantee on-time delivery. That is a crucial selling point. I think this gives them an advantage
over their competitors. She also states that they don't use a automated phone service. That her
and her dad, personally answer the phones. I think this shows a care on a personal level and
makes it seem as the company really does care about the customers. She doesn't describe
anything about who their target market is though. They are a trucking company. This is a very
general statement. There are many types of trucking companies that do many different things.
They need to be a little more specific in this area.
I have my own marketing business and with that I have an elevator pitch. It is:
Business owners hire us to create compelling marketing that
gets the attention of high-quality prospects, engages and educates
them and inspires them to become loyal customers who refer their
friends.
