Business Research and Management

Toni Barbieri July 2nd, 2022 QSO 500 3-1 Final Project Milestone One: Draft of Business Problem and Literature Review Business Problem: Research Problem Maruti Suzuki India had great success in the Indian market until they experienced a downfall in their product management. Other auto manufacturers such as Hyundai and Tala caused competition for Maruti which led to a decrease in its market share along with their sales The issue with poor product management was due to lack of research and development. MSI's research and development work was specifically in India, while maybe a broader possibility would have helped. Hyundai as an example produced their products in Korea, but also marketed their products globally. MSI did not watch the market trends which led to them not expanding and becoming global. The main problem is lack of good research and development; however, the company has started to take action in handling these issues. MSI began addressing the issue by attempting to set their vision in targeting the right customer base with the right design. This improved their position in the car industry. Stakeholders Stakeholders that experienced the outcome of MSI's bad business practices are their shareholders. "Shareholders play an important role in the financing, operations, governance and control aspects of a business" (Basu, 2019). MSI's stakeholders consists of Suzuki Motor Corporation and also the Indian Government. There are two problems when it comes to the stakeholders. The first problem is that MSI's shareholders were affected due to the major decline in their sales and profits. This put the business in a hard place to have to explain this situation to their stakeholders. The second problem is that the customers began to lose faith in the company name, as they could see the poor quality in their products. It is extremely important for MSI to remain focused on their stakeholders, as they are directly affected by any company decision. Research Objective The main research objective of this study is to determine the cause of MSI's product management. Their poor product management practices had led to the company experiencing low profits, and very slow growth. There has been some great competition, such as Hyundai, so when it comes to MSI the research objective should find ways of improving their product management. Improving their product management should also improve their position in the car industry, as well as remaining competitive in the markets. The research objective should also get a better understanding of what caused their downfalls and how they can begin to improve and grow. Research Question Based on the research objective, the research question would be: What caused the poor management in MSI? Ethical Issues When it comes to ethical issues, the main concern with this study is privacy and confidentiality since all personal information much remain private (Sekaran, 2016). Regarding ethics and the manner, the data was collected, it should be done with respect, being careful not to violate any of the participants privacy, as well as making sure not to violate
