The event commonly referred to as the Tulsa racial riot or the Black Wall Street massacre is widely recognized as one of the most lethal acts of terrorism in the annals of American history. According to the Tulsa Historical Society and Museum (n.d.), almost 35 square blocks of affluent African American neighborhoods were decimated.
