Eat Turkey, Become American I beliebe that the authors purpose for authoring this article was to tell about her family's history and how they became US citizens and also how even though they weren't born US citizens and were Korean that they still celebrating Thanksgiving, as Americans know it, they just celebrate it differently. Also, she realized that this succession never missed, never altered, was a gift in her thoughts, eyes, and beliefs. The context of this piece was written in the early 1930s to 1960s in Korea and then to United States. Her style of writing for this article is narrative style and has a joyful and descriptive, because she gets to tell her families story and go into small details while gets to remanence about good holidays even when things werent going the best for her family. A closer analysis of the author's claims and writing structure will provide a better understanding of the article and details. In this article I believe that a closer analysis would tell one about immigration and how no matter ones citizenship states or country celebrate holidays. Personally yes, I believe that authors writing effectively achieves their purpose because she tells about their kind of celebration for Thanksgiving but its looked at more as a gift to Korean people.
