Final Project: Milestone Two - Aileen Wuornos Demographics Aileen Carol Wuornos was born in Rochester, Michigan, to Leo Dale Pittman and Diane Wuornos on February 29, 1956, and was named Aileen Carol Pittman (Crime+Investigation, 2014; Bankston, 2023). Aileen was a white female with light brown hair and brown eyes, and as an adult, she stood approximately five feet and four inches in height and weighed 137 pounds (Office of Clark County, 2012). Starting at an early age, Aileen began to do sexual favors for others in trade for food, cigarettes, and money (Arrigo & Griffen 2004). This would be the beginning of a life of crime that led to the seven homicides of middle-aged men. After the birth and adoption of her only son at age 14, Aileen would drop out of school and begin to live in the woods and on the streets, making a living through prostitution. At the age of 20, Aileen made her way to Florida, where she met and married a man who was 70 years old. The marriage lasted a short time when he divorced her citing that he was a victim of domestic assault at the hands of Aileen (Arrigo & Griffen, 2004). Aileen started to get into more trouble with the law, getting arrested and jailed for armed robbery at one point (Jenkins, 2023). At this time, Aileen began a transient lifestyle and started hitchhiking with her girlfriend, Tyria Moore.
