Lisa is accused of luring a group of men into a park where they are a acked by a criminal street gang. She is also a gang member and this is part of her ini a on. She had a very strict upbringing and was physically abused by her older brother and father growing up. At age 13, she befriended some gang members who let her hang around with them. She started skipping school and commi ng pe y crimes such as the and burglary. Her gang got into a ght with a rival gang and she was injured, requiring s tches and X-rays. A police report was led, although no charges were brought against her.
Upon further inves ga on, you learn that Lisa was enrolled in several honors classes in her freshman year of high school before she started skipping school to be with her gang. In order to gain entrance to the honors classes, she was tested by the school psychologist for intelligence ftIQ) and personality traits to determine the best t for her academically. She had an IQ of 120, which is highly intelligent. Her personality traits, however, revealed that she was outgoing, quick to anger, had problems with authority, and charming with her peers. She was sent to the school counselor to help her with anger management, but only a ended three sessions before dropping out of school.
Using the Criminal Data Guide document and thinking about the cumula ve risk model, respond to the following:
1. What ques ons would you have asked to nd out the informa on regarding Lisa's school history?
I would have asked to see Lisa's school class list when she enrolled. Once I found out she was
enrolled in honors classes I would have asked to see the results of her test in order to be admi ed to the
honors classes. From there I would have found the personality traits.
2. What other types of informa on would be important to ask about to further inves gate this case?
I would ask about her home life to see if there was a trigger to make her start ac ng out. Did she have a run in with the police that had a nega ve outcome? Did anyone in her family or her friends? I would also ask if the family has a history of anger management issues.

3. Does Lisa's IQ play a role in her behavior? Explain using psychological theories to support your response.
I don't think her IQ plays a role in her behavior, however I do believe she thinks she might be
above the law and can outsmart law enforcement. She has a charming personality which means she thinks she can sweet talk her way
