1. Review the Uniform Crime Repor -ng (UCR) website. What type of criminal data can you gather from this website? The Uniform Crime Repor ng website gathers and provides all kinds of data. This data includes The Na onal Incident-Based Repor ng System (NIBRS), The Hate Crime Sta s cs Program, the New Na onal Use-of-Force Data Collec on, and the Law Enforcement O cers Killed and Assaulted (LEOKA) Program. The UCR Program also publishes reports, annually and preliminary semiannually. This program also publishes special reports like the Human Tra cking report, the Cargo The Report, and the NIBRS topical studies. The collec on of this data allows for majority of the crimes to be accounted for. For example, the NIBRS collects data (any known o enders, related vic m informa on, the rela onship between the vic m and o ender, any property involved, and anyone arrested) for each single crime incident.
2. Using the Criminal Data Guide document as a guide, what do you no ce about the informa on that you should ask about? Where should you look for this informa on? The informa on that should be asked digs deeper into the background of the individual. Their past and present background. The ques ons that are asked should cover every aspect of the individual: biological, social, psychological, and environmental. You can nd this informa on by simply asking the individual ques ons or talking to someone who knows the individual very well. You can also nd informa on from research found from their medical records, any court related documents, any school records or past police/arrest records.

Yes, I think there is usually a typical pro le for terrorist. "Terrorists have a complex set of social, psychological, ideological, religious, and poli cal mo ves and behaviors. Because terrorists seek notoriety and a en on, they tend to select targets that symbolize the power of their enemy or that will draw the a en on of the global media" (Pro ling Terrorists I O ce of Jus ce Programs, n.d.).
