Marketing Strategies for a Health Food Store

2-1 Discussion: Marketing Strategies My local health food store is independently owned by a family. I often go there, and they even buy necklaces from me to sell in their store! They carry all kinds of natural health supplements, foods, and products. They also make fresh smoothies, juices, and soups daily. They use digital media in a few ways, one is social media. They post everyday on Facebook to let the businesses by selling and representing their merchandise, and bakery products in their shop. They also post when they host events run by other local venders. When you visit the health food store you can also find flyers made from digital media, and they pass them out to the other shops downtown on the square where they are located. I believe these strategies are effect, because they usually have a decent amount of people flow through their store due to their attempts in advertising through social media and digital media prints. Whenever they have events like yoga and other useful workshops it's almost always a full house. These events and strategies are effect because they bring in new customers and spread awareness of their store through these customers. Although the health food store's strategies are effective, there is always room for improvement or suggestions. The health food store is only listed on google maps, but it's not listed on other mobile apps like HappyCow.com which is a helpful app to vegans and others who has allergens and need special products that the health food store carries. I couldn't find much about them other than their face book page, and I think it would be cool if they offered some type of mobile app that listed their events, the local parties they represent, and even health information in the pamphlets that they put together. I guess my main suggestion would be to digitalize the information they are already gathering and putting together into flyers. I have a few friends who have never heard about the health food store and they have live in this area longer than I have and by doing this I believe they could reach the younger community more effectively.
