Direct Marketing

Kendra Stevens MKT 360 3-1 Discussion This week I received an email from Sally Beauty, I do shop there every couple of months for hair color and supplies. This direct marke ng email is for hair color and lists "top picks" for current hair color, showcasing three di erent brands of hair color followed by supplies that are needed to dye one's hair, such as a bowl, color brush, and gloves or a cape. There are several "shop now" links that can be clicked on, however none of them work. Each one brings up an error message saying that the link is unable to open. The email itself is very visually pleasing, consis ng of a background of long brown hair contrasted against the white and pink theme with the black text throughout the rest of the email. This direct marke ng strategy cannot be e ec ve if the links a ached to the email do not work. I would feel more inclined to make a purchase from Sally's emails if the links brought me to the products featured in the email. As a consumer, I would feel a bit frustrated and would likely look elsewhere if I had not been a previous customer of theirs. At rst I would say this marke ng communica on had reached the level of "right o er for each person" ffRapp, 2010, Figure 5.1), un I Ired to actually use their marke ng communica on to possibly make a purchase. With the links not working properly there is major room for improvement in this case.
