Advanced Graphic Design Techniques and Portfolio Development

7-1 Final Project Milestone Five: Ready-for-Print Portfolio Ivy Kennedy GRA-491-R2991 Graphic Design Portfolio 23EW2 Professor Tommie Washington December 10, 2023 Website: https://campuspress.snhu.edu/ivyportfolio/ Ready for Print Portfolio a. Working Knowledge of Graphic Design Software and Digital Tools: Are your software and digital tool choices, techniques, and content creation/editing choices that are evident in the completion of this design, series of designs, or project technically appropriate? Does your work show an advanced working knowledge of graphic design software? Explain why or why not. Give examples. Throughout this course and portfolio project, I've changed and refined my portfolio to display my craft on a more professional level and set whom I want to appeal to. The software and digital tool choices, techniques, and content creation/editing choices are evident in completing my website and ready for print portfolio. My ready-to-print portfolio designs were created in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Lightroom Classic. Photoshop allows me to quickly edit, remix, and polish my work while dramatically improving my branding. Adobe Illustrator allowed me to create logos, drawings, typography, advertisements, and complex illustrations. Working with InDesign software is a page layout designing software, which allowed me to create my Pasta Amore Brochure and Menus. Using Lightroom Classic allows you to create black-and- white photos as a classical form of photography. Lightroom is a good software to start learning skills on how to convert color photos to black and white. To create my Ready to Print Portfolio, I use Adobe Illustrator, a multi-page artboard. After placing each piece on its artboard, the overall project displays my advanced artwork and knowledge of graphic design. b. Elements of Design: Home page: Did you employ the elements of design (line, color, shape, form, value, space, and texture) and the principles of design (contrast, balance, emphasis, movement, white space, proportion, hierarchy, repetition, rhythm, pattern, unity, and variety) in this design, series of designs, or project in ways that demonstrate skill and depth of knowledge? Explain why or why not. Give examples. Yes, I use the elements of design and the principles of design. I used every content of design and principle. In building my ready-to-print portfolio, there was a wide use of elements of design such as color, lines, space, and form on each artboard of my portfolio. The color can control the mood of any project. It can give you positive and negative energy. I use contrast, repetition, balance, and unity throughout my portfolio. The element of design helps build and give structure to a project. Elements of Principles provide the perfect polish to my ready-to-print portfolio. c. Creative Self-Expression and Originality: Within your design process, did you explore and commit substantial time and effort to ideation and brainstorming techniques during the development phase(s) of this design, series of designs, or project? Do you feel these efforts toward creativity and originality are evident in the finished work? Is there evidence of knowledge and application of ethical guidelines? Please explain the ideation technique(s) used in developing this work. During the development
