Good afternoon, I have included the two separate projects for your review. In the verse project, the typefaces I selected were script and sans serif, the two fonts used were Filmotype Carmen and Comic Sans MS. I chose these typefaces because sans serif is easy to read and is not as harsh as serif is, and script gives a sense of serenity and hope. For the fonts, I selected these as I wanted the specific words "here, sister's brother's, country, and good morning" to stand out the most. Selecting the script font, Filmotype Carmen, for these allowed those to stand out just by glancing at the verse. I selected the sans serif font, Comic Sans MS, because it is simple but also thick enough to not get lost among the other font. The different sizes and styles help communicate the emotion of hope, as the words that have been slightly changed, whether in color, style, or size, allow those to emit the importance of the words. In the call-to-action poster, the typefaces I selected were handwritten and sans serif, the two fonts I selected were CCSmashOpen and Lucida Sans. I selected these typefaces because I wanted the poster to be inviting and welcoming. The handwritten typeface makes it feel friendly and as if someone had spent time drawing it instead of just text from a computer. The sans serif fonts are less formal, therefore allowing the poster to continue being welcoming. The fonts I specifically selected also allowed that that happen. CCSmashOpen is fun and has a wavy look to the font, making the event appear to be a fun event to attend, it also has a block letter look to it making it stand out against the background. Lucida Sans is simple and easy to read ensuring that you can see what it says without having to look too hard. These typefaces and fonts align with the need of wanting it to be a poster that gravitates people to attend it. It's very inviting and fun looking to make people want to look at it. The font sizes and the styles selected communicate the call to action that you are looking for, as the poster keeps you drawn in so you want to attend the
event. The middle section with the raffle tickets, door prizes, live music, and fun games gives a fun movement to the piece. Please let me know if you have any questions! Have a wonderful afternoon, Bianca Hitchings
