Overall, my capstone experience was an emotional roller-coaster. Some moments I was up, I was down, excited, disappointed, and exhausted. It's difficult juggling work, family, and school. However, through this course, I found the beauty in refinement and the importance of challenging your thought process so I can become a better designer. Finding the focus, reflecting, and refining every assignment during this course was challenging but aligned with my passion for graphic design. It also shows the lessons we must learn in each module. Although my capstone experience had me mentally and feeling all over the place, I understand the purpose of the result. The final assignment plays a vital role in preparing students for the world of work thanks to its practical applications and ability to help hone students' professional knowledge and skills (Lukins, What is a capstone project? and why
1 is it important? 2023). It's designed to consolidate final-year students' learning with valuable hands-on experience to help develop them into well-prepared and well-rounded graduates. (Lukins, What is a capstone project? and why is it important? 2023). The project involves extensive research and analysis and can last from one semester to one year. As I reflect on the significance of the capstone in relation to my own experience at Southern New Hampshire University, I realize how more of an organized, dedicated, detail-oriented person I've become. I am a better designer than when I started back in October 2021. However, I had problems along the way. One of them is polishing up my portfolio website and trying to create a web portfolio and a printable Portfolio. I'm not as advanced with creating a website as it is, refining and polishing the website took a lot of research and patience. Discussions and assignments in each module improved my skills and mid-term settings. The connection I see between my capstone and my academic program is that both have the same end goal. Both require students to apply knowledge, craftsmanship, and skills that have been displayed throughout the degree program creatively and practically (jacob, Your complete guide to a successful Capstone Project 2022). Although they have the same result, their processes are different. The academic program outcome was purposeful and filled with guidance, which helped mold me into the graphic designer I am today. Capstones are created by the power of people who have influenced you as an artist. I've learned a lot throughout this semester but one thing I will always remember and apply to my future academics is knowing the purposes of your project and executing it. You must know
