Capstone Component 2: Professional Reflection
Healthcare Administration Capstone
After getting my degree in Nutritional Science, I felt like I was stuck with a degree that I
did not have a passion for. This can be frustrating at times and I felt lost for a few years. I found
SNHU on accident and it was the biggest blessing to ever enter my life. I started my bachelors
degree in late 2015 and I am now writing this essay to hopefully wrap up my time here at SNHU
with my Bachelors in Healthcare Administration. All the courses that I have been enrolled in here
at SNHU have helped me gain so much more knowledge of the healthcare field that I had before.
The capstone course specifically taught me that this is something I could picture myself doing
for the entirety of my career.
My capstone experience was a challenging one. I felt the capstone challenged me to dig
deep into the knowledge that I have gained over my time here at Southern New Hampshire
University and utilize it to my advantage. I have always struggled with projects that engulf a
whole semesters worth of knowledge like a final exam for example. Sometimes, I feel as though
the information sticks with me for a while and then slowly dissipates once more information
comes along. For me, this course was not like that. When I started my milestones for this course.

apply them to my capstone project and that was refreshing for me given my past. The capstone
challenged me to think outside the box and create a solution to a problem that is really brining
our country down. Healthcare issues are on the rise and I felt that it was important to try to bring
some light to the issues we have within the poverty ridden areas, like NYC as used in my
capstone project. The experience for me was great and it challenged me to combine all my
knowledge to make the project happen.
The capstone is significant to me in relation to my experience here at SNHU because now
I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. The capstone experience helped me realize that I
have a lot of potential and that I can come up with beneficial ideas when given the right
resources and knowledges as I have been given throughout my time here at SNHU. The capstone
was challenging but I felt that it helped me piece together everything I need to know for my
future endeavors in this field. I get really discouraged when I take a course and never use the
information again, I feel that some courses can be irrelevant and felt that a lot when I was getting
my degree in Nutritional Science. While being at SNHU and specifically while finishing my
capstone, I did not feel tha
