Healthcare Admin Capstone 7-1 Milestone Six Evaluation Methodologies Nicole Whaley Evaluation Methodologies Evaluation Methodologies Introduction An organization needs to have a clear vision and a strategic plan in place before one can manage the process and performance of the new program. A tool that an organization or management team can use to obtain a better understanding of the steps that are needed to have a quality evaluation is the Evaluation Methodology. The Evaluation Methodology is a process that will help with the learning of the needs for the program and to determine the level of quality of performance, product, or skills. (n.d) Methods of Measuring Success To accurately evaluate the Proactive-universal Mental Healthcare Program for Children and adolescents, I will be using quantitative and qualitative data. These methods will provide information that is important for the evaluation of the program and improving the community engagement needed for the success of the new program. (2015, June 25) Data Gathering The Project Program Manager is responsible for gathering, analyzing data, and identifying any corrections needed made to the program during the evaluation process of the new program. A program evaluation process goes through four phases: planning, implementation completion and dissemination and reporting. During planning and implementing phases the Manager should be determining the feasibility of the program evaluation, identifying stakeholders, and specifying the short and long-term of the program. Formative and process evaluations are also completed. Is the program recruiting and retaining children and adolescents with mental health illnesses, are we meeting legal standards, maintaining the projected timelines Evaluation Methodologies and goals. Is the program coordinating efficiently with the other programs and activities? (2015. June 25) Quantitative data provides information for the Project Program Manager by answering questions such as "Who was involved?", "How many?", "What were the outcomes?", and "What was the cost of the new program? This data will be gathered by surveys and/or questionnaires, observations, and clinical data reported. Qualitative data is collected by observations, interviews and focus groups. Observing a child or adolescent may help with explaining specific behaviors as they actually happen. Facilitators run focus groups that lead to discussions among a group of children and adolescents who are experiencing specific characteristics of a mental health illness. (2015, June 25) Data Analysis The process of a program evaluation is completed for the primary purpose of assessing the program process, outcomes, and facilitating ongoing management needs of the program being implemented. The utilization of the program's stakeholders in analyzing data that has been collected through the program evaluation helps with building support, it will also increase the credibility of the program, provides a participatory approach, and supplies multiple perspectives for the new program. Analysis of the quantitative data is completed by involving statistical analysis, this can be descriptive or complex statistics. Qualitative method collects data that the Project Program Manager analysis through examining, comparing, contrasting, and interpreting patterns by answering questions such as "When did something happen?", " What value was added?", "Who is responsible?"
