It can happen sequentially or simultaneously and at different levels one individual, between employees, and throughout corporations( AHRQ,n.d).It was a set of tasks that needed to be completed in order to reach a particular objective, which in this organization was the provision of patient care. The deployment of HIE will have an influence on existing workflow and employee performance because work will be done differently than usual due to changes in the process. Health information exchange is there to create a safe, accrue, and reliable way to exchange patient help information on a safe network. When changes start to occur it can cause issues among the employees because once the assessment is done to determine which areas need to be fixed or updated. It could cause employees to worry about their performance it is best to communicate the reason for the new or updated health information is exchanged. It is best to communicate how it might affect the workflow for a certain department. With the change, it could improve the quality of employee performance because it allows them to get an understanding on what needs to be fixed and how it going to get fixed. It could create a new skill or a new way to do the job that needs to be done. But it could cause for their performance to go down because it could them to doubt their self-worth or themselves. To know if a workflow will improve or change workflow tasks a couple of things have to be done first. Assessment needs to complete The goal of the workflow assessment is to find areas where efficiency gains can be realized, such as getting rid of repetitive jobs and unnecessary processes. By enhancing clinical workflow, clinicians will be able to work more quickly and efficiently, spend less time waiting around for others to finish duties, interact with one another more effectively, and provide patients with better treatment(HIPAA journal, 2023). This will determine the area that needs to be fix or which area is working properly. When changes come it might make employees a little worried about their jobs. The best practice it to communicate and educate all employees, and come everyone that is involved updated. Inform them of the reason for the changes, how it will benefit the workflow, and the impact it with have. By enabling a seamless flow of information on a secure network, health information exchange can have an impact on an organization. The efficient handling of information pertaining to a patient's medical and health aspects helps to improve the level of completeness relating to patient records changes are introduced in the healthcare setting, even though electronic transfer does not replace communication between healthcare service users and healthcare service providers(HealthIT.gov, 2020).
