TITLE OF DOCUMENT 2 Healthcare organization Alpha is looking to convert from their current outdated EHR system of paper documentation and electronic scheduling systems into a more modern and efficient EHR system that can accommodate all its service lines. Ensuring that this overhaul is done seamlessly and with security in mind while handling this information transfer is extremely important. Having the organizations stakeholders involved in this process is necessary to ensure user-friendliness, accessibility, and its ultimate success. The stakeholders included would consist of the CEO, the organization's physicians, chief of nursing, lead pharmacist, imaging director, and surgical supervisor. The CEO understands more about the background of the organization than anybody else and ultimately understands the budget of what should be spent on an improvement like this. Looping in the physicians, nurses, and department leads is essential to ensure that whatever EHR system is chosen is user-friendly and keeps the workflow efficient throughout each department. The organization's physicians would Organization Alpha is currently a 150-bed hospital, with five intensive care beds, and its emergency department is designated as a level III trauma center. This facility has designated care areas for outpatient surgery, orthopedic surgery, women's health, pediatrics, and cardiology. The auxiliary services that Alpha provides are five family practice clinics, two internal medicine clinics, one cardiology clinic, one neurology clinic, one orthopedic and sports medicine clinic, one eye care clinic, one women's health clinic, and one pediatric clinic. In addition to all these services Alpha also provides outpatient rehabilitation services and runs a community wellness program. Applications: Health Informatics The applications that should be present in the EHR, with staff and patients in mind, would be a mobile technology. Applications: Requirements Ensuring that security and privacy is at the forefront of this mobile application development is of the utmost importance. This app needs to follow HIPPA compliance, especially ePHI. "Electronic protected health information (ePHI) is protected health information that is produced, saved, transferred or received in an electronic form. In the United States, ePHI management and security is covered under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) Security Rule." (Tech Target, 2021).
