5-2 Milestone Three: IMPLEMENTATION 2 INTRODUCTION: What is Data Entry? "According to the Cambridge Online Dictionary" data entry is the work and process of putting data whether it's personal or another form of information into a database. For this milestone, we are tasked with implementing a NEW EHR system and discussing a more efficient way for users to enter data into the new EHR system. However, we will also be determining what the best approach would be for functionality and elimination of any viruses and recommend any educational training that would be beneficial to the new EHR system. Implementation: Data Entry Why is data entry important? It is important, it is important in healthcare because using data entry gives the provider a more effective way to be informed about patient care. This is also designed for the sharing of patient data across multiple channels forward and has all patient data within reach, for the provider's use and to be able to give continuous care to the patient. "Real- time data entry" is recommended when charting patient care information. Doing so enables staff and organizations to work more effectively and productively improving results for patient care. Using a screen design will help facilitate data capture which will allow its users easy access and to display their work. Using a fast-paced field would make sure that everything and everyone is on the same page, which is considered very crucial for patients' health. Implementation: Testing When it comes to completing an EHR system, you must ensure that everything is in working order and easily accessible. Make sure that testing has been done on everything and make certain that the staff will have use of all components. However, training the staff will also help, and providing practice testing will help things run smoothly. Be sure to include guidelines,
5-2 Milestone Three: IMPLEMENTATION 3 which will need to be followed, and include practice sessions for all staff members. The staff would then be able to practice within the EHR and give their experiences and opinions. Testing should be a process that is realistic and allows for possible fixes and outcomes. However, should any issue arise, it should be fixable before the system gets launched. Implementation: Education and Training An EHR system must have an in-depth training implementation planned throughout the facility. A well-thought-out plan should consider the training and allow all staff to have a good understanding of what will be entailed within the coming months. Also, make sure that all staff are comfortable with the importance of the implementation and its process, this will allow the staff to be more willing to ask questions regarding the implementation of the EHR system. Training and education must be provided and done in person along with another individual who is already trained. With training being in person, it will allow the user to see real-life scenarios which will make
