During the evaluation phase of the system life cycle the project team needs to evaluate
how well the implementation went and how the facility determines whether the IS functions
properly. The project team will need to determine what did and did not work during
implementation process to understand where improvements need to be made on the next
implementation. The project team will also be looking to see if the facility came in on budget and
met the established goals for the project.
During the implementation phase of the system life cycle is focused on preparing and
launching the information system that has been selected for use. The process to implement the
AzaleaEHR system which is a cloud-based computing system would require site preparation
which involves making needed changes to the physical location where hardware is installed.
User preparation would require administration to inform patients and staff of the upcoming
changes being made to systems either in person or electronically such as social media or email
Next installing hardware into the data center and loading software onto the file server,
mainframe, or other computer in data center since the Alpha organization is updating from an
outdated paper system. Programming may not be required because the Alpha organization is
purchasing a brand new IS system; however, customization may better prepare the IS to meet the
needs of the organization which is where data conversion comes in that copies data and
manipulates it into the format of the new system. Setting configuration involves entering desired
behaviors of the IS into tables of setting fields. Screen design and reengineering process are both
dedicated to ensuring that the new system and business has improved job efficiency. Training for
the new system would be imperative for providing a smooth transition for patients and staff and
limit confusion and possible breaches in security. The system I recommended comes with all the
tools the Alpha organization needs to thrive in healthcare. The integrative properties involved
with this system will make it easier to convert data over and is user-friendly. Patient portals will
give patients more access to their healthcare information which will help engage them.
