Healthcare Data Management Implementation

Module Three: Implementation 5-2 Final Project Milestone Three: Implementation Kyndall K. Tucker Southern New Hampshire University 5-2 Final Project Milestone Three: Implementation 5-2 Final Project Milestone Three: Implementation Data entry is inputted data into a computer system. Data entry is important when implementing a new system because it supports data entry systems, users to input information and allows those user to customize patient records. In this milestone I will be discussing how data entry would be used in the new EHR system, recommendations for a testing plan and education and training that would be beneficial to the system. Implementation: Data Entry Data entry is important because it is information that is inputted into a computer. Some of things that would implemented within the data entry process would be transcription, typing and even voice recognition. Furthermore, with the new EHR system the data entry will include alert of errors, correction of errors, message formatting, free text, guiding users who need help. checking data entries and providing many kinds of data processing aids. Another important factor to consider would also be screen elements. Implementing the correct screen elements will allow users to go through pages easily and view the screen at a comfortable level. Lastly, this will keep information accurate and up to date. Implementation: Testing In order to maintain a smooth test plan all components of the EHR system should be tested. In order to make this process work there will definitely need to be help from the staff. It is important that all systems meet the appropriate guidelines. For a successful testing plan there should be work flow implemented. A testing strategy should be developed, validation of workflows, allocate resources, track testing and outcome and lastly implementing audits of the testing plan. Furthermore, in the testing plan I would recommend resources that should be ran by 5-2 Final Project Milestone Three: Implementation 3 a testing coordinator. The testing process should be realistic and address real issues that can occur within the system. This is important because if there are any issues those issues can be fixed within the testing phase. Lastly, it's important that the testing plan is implemented because it will ensure that when the system goes live it will be a smooth process. It will also help work out any missed information and allow a more smooth transition. Implementation: Education and Training Training is an important when implementing a new EHR system. First, I would recommend a well laid out training plan that will be helpful to both the user and patients Training and education should be done interactively with a live trainer so that users can get familiar with the new system. I feel that live scenarios and example should be used so that users can be able to experience issues through the system and so that those issues can be fixed first hand. Of course training would need to be done before the actual system goes live. Additionally training should incorporate the important information about th
