Introduction: Explanation
The Engstrom Auto Mirror plant located in Indiana was a privately-owned business
which manufactured mirrors for trucks and automobiles. This organization had 209 employees
and was run by Ron Bent who was the manager and his assistant, Joe Haley. The business was
having a lucrative productivity and finance until the year of 2005. They were hit with a downturn
in 2005 and this led the management to lay off forty-six of their two hundred and fifty-five
employees in 2006 (Beer & Collins, 2008).
As we know may organizations will have to face the ups and downs of what comes with the
economy or what to the society may need at different time. An organization need to be prepared
for these moments. Engstrom Auto Mirror plant unfortunately wasn't prepared for it. The
manager that was present before Bent did not fulfilled his role as manager and that affected the
organization, because there were some organizational issues at Engstrom Mirror Auto Plant Bent
and Haley had to figure out how to make the business thrive again. The challenges that Engstrom
Auto Mirror plant faced were first the Scanlon no longer being an effective plan for this
organization, second the employees were distrusting management and last is the lack of
employment productivity.
Introduction: Direction
The direction that I will apply will be a critical study and research plan on the Engstrom
Mirror Plant communication. I will then study the appropriate approach and model management
should apply for the Engstrom Mirror Plant that should be applied to reverse the three issues that
I have listed above to make this organization lucrative again. Examples can be the slowness
answer to employees from management regarding the employees' dissatisfaction. I will also
research on vital guideline of Engstrom Mirror Plant related to the human behavior and
acceptance of diversity.
