Running Head: ROOT CAUSE CASE STUDY ANALYSIS Root Cause Case Study Analysis By: Jennifer VanHall Instructor: Jennifer Varney SNHU April 3,2016 ROOT CAUSE CASE STUDY ANALYSIS 2 Organizational issues are diverse and they can manifest themselves within the organization in a manner that may be difficult to detect. These issues if not detected earlier, can prevent the organization from achieving its set goals and objective. In a nutshell organizational issues are organizational problems that can hinder the smooth operation of the organization. They range from employee work related issues to organizational structural related issues (Lorenzi & Riley, 2003). Often times the underlying cause of these issues within the organization is lack of open flow of information or even using wrong organizational structure. From the case study of Engstrom Auto Mirror Plant, there are several organizational issues that are evident and have resulted into organizational conflict. These issues present themselves almost in all organizations. It is therefore important for the management of any organization to ensure they have effective strategies to deal with any issue that may arise within the organization since failure to address such issues may result to even more problems within the organization. Some of the most common organizational issues that present themselves almost in all organizations include: > Motivational issues > Leadership issues > Communication issues > Management issues > Misunderstood mission > Lack of organizational consensus > Lack of team cohesion > Lack of resources > Misunderstood strategy ROOT CAUSE CASE STUDY ANALYSIS Whenever such issues manifest themselves within the organization, it always results into organizational inefficiencies. In order to deal with such issues, it is important for an organization to assess the various root causes these issues. From our case study of Engstrom Auto Mirror Plant, we can be able to identify, depict and analyze the root causes of the various organizational issues that are evident within that particular organization. The following is the analysis of the root cause of the various organizational issues as presented in the case study. Motivational issues It is evident that the poor motivational strategies within Engstrom Auto Mirror Plant have resulted to several conflicts within the plant. The Scanlon plan implemented by the management of the company as an effective incentive plan did not seem effective as was intended by the earlier thought. The incentive plan did not seem effective to address the needs of the employees This has resulted to frequent complaints among employees of the plant. From the case study, it is evident that the compensation plan adopted did not seem effective to address the employee's needs. Several months have passed and the employees have not received their bonuses. This does not create any essence of motivation among employees. The root cause of the poor motivational issues within the plant is the downturn in productivity and performance which was facing the organization. The Scanlon plan generally entails three components which makes it effective. These components include submission for improvement by employees at all levels, the structure o
