II. Reason behind the article choice:
"The art of Communication is the language of Leadership" James Humes
In todays' modern world, the definition of leadership is bounded to power and
command which we witness in every aspect of the world from the political one to the
economic and social ones. However, there is a need to redefine this word from its social
construct view and ask ourselves what is a good leader?" rather than limiting it to the
concepts of "leader" or "leadership".
In our context, which is leading in an organization or business, one of the most crucial
skills that a leader needs to acquire is good communication and ability to conflict resolution.
Thus; I chose to base my article review on this subject. Indeed, the ability of a leader to
communicate, manage, and lead his team members is not only a way to enhance their
involvement and stimulate their creativity and work outcomes but also a way to achieve
success within the company. Furthermore, an effective communication enables the leaders to
clearly expose what they expect from others opening the floor to new suggestions, ideas
understanding, acceptance, and more importantly respect.
