Human Behavior in Organizations

Hello, I am from Connec cut and working towards my Master of Sciences in Healthcare Administra on. I have worked in the medical eld since I was a senior in high school where I started out as a CNA (Cer ed Nursing Assistant) when my high school o ered the class. I graduated from Gateway Community College in with an Associate Degree in Radiologic Science. I have two jobs as a Radiologic Technologist one is at which is a level 1 trauma hospital located centrally in the downtown area of Connec cut. I work in the emergency room from 3:45pm- 4:15am and the other is per diem at an urgent care facility. My professional goal is to become a supervisor or manager at a hospital or urgent care facility. Looking at both organiza ons I work for, this post I will focus on the urgent care facility. According to Schermerhorn, Wright and Guest gure 1-3 an organiza ons inputs are "people, money, materials, technology, and informa on". FIGURE 1.3 ORGANIZATIONSAS OPENSYSTEMS The environment supplies The organization creates The environment Resource inputs People Product outputs Finished Work activities turn Transformation pro The various resources that comprise the urgent care facili es inputs are the employees, training, and knowledge of responsibili es and skill. Our sta consists of a recep onist, radiologic technologist, site coordinator, medical assistant, and providers who are aprns and pa-c's. The employees at the urgent care facility transform the inputs into products or services by being pro cient and knowledgeable in what their specialty is and everyone in urgent care is cross trained where medical assistants and radiologic technologists are trained to draw blood, input pa ents, perform drug and alcohol tes ng and pa ent intake. This makes it possible for one person to be able to have knowledge in mul ple areas, so they can pick up some responsibili es. This way, the produc vity of the clinic is not a ected if one person falls behind. Our co-workers' unique personali es each bring something to the facility as everyone has each other's back and strives to the common goal of teamwork and assuring sa sfying our pa ents by providing great pa ent care and as well as connec ng with them during their visit to ensure it goes smoothly and needs are met References Schermerhorn, J.R., Wright, B. & Guest, L.
