Gaps in Organization Current Practices
In order to Nimble to be successful in a global market, and to become a more geocentric
type of organization, there are going to be many changes that the organization has to consider.
The lack of an HR team, and the current hiring practices are going to hinder the success of
Nimble when trying to expand globally. We know that currently Nimble relies on referrals from
its employees in order to recruit new employees [ CITATION Hom15 \l 1033 ]. While there are
some benefits to this, such as ensuring that employees fit in well on a personal level and have the
values that the organization is looking for, there are also some downfalls. This type of hiring
practice is hindering them from finding the most qualified and potentially the best person for the
job. This is something that is going to be especially important for Nimble as they begin to
expand into the global market. They will no longer be able to rely simply on the referrals of
employees to fully staff these new locations, especially since its likely you will not know
employees in these areas. Instead, Nimble needs to change their recruiting and hiring methods to
help attract the best candidates for the job. Which leads back to having an effective HR team. As
Nimble continues to expand they are going to need a full HR department that is able to advertise,
recruit, hire, train, and manage employees.
In addition to adding a dedicated HR department, and changing the way in which they
hire employees, another area of concern for Nimble in the global market is the culture. Since
they are a U.S. company trying to expand around the world, it is likely they are not familiar with
the different cultures, locations, and practices found around the world. This could become a huge
gap for the organization, and substantially hinder their success. In order to better ensure that
success, it will be important to Nimble to research the locations culture, laws and regulations.

and the environment that they will be working in. Knowing what they are getting into better
allows them to be set up for success. HR is going to need to know labor laws and anything else
that employers must follow in the local country. This could prevent a huge loss of money from
making mistakes that you weren't even aware of.
Business Practice
Adopting a more geocentric approach has many benefits for an organization. "A
geocentric company is one where the management looks at opportunities on a global scale
instead of focusing on the way that business gets done in a given country[ CITATION Ste \I 1033
]." Rather than spending time and resources understanding how to be successful in each and
every location you want to
