Norse Heritage and Heathenry in Music

I really like Karen Kahan's song My Mother's Savage Daughter. Karen Kahan also known as Wyndreth Berginsdottir wrote this song in the 1990s inspired by her Norse heritage and Heathenry For anyone that does not know what Norse heritage or Heathenry means, Norse heritage is having Viking ancestry or in other words, a person who is a descendant of someone who was born in Scandinavia and Heathenry means a broad contemporary Pagan new religious movement it is also known as 'Germanic'. I think the reason why this song is so significant in my life is that my mom used to sing it to me and my sister while she was brushing our hair when we were younger Another reason this song is significant in my life is that Karen was inspired to write a song about her culture so this has inspired me to be comfortable and confident in my culture as being German.
