In-Store Marketing Experiences

Jennifer Breshears Samantha Eaddy Intro to Marketing January 31, 2019 4-1 Discussion: In-Store Marketing Experiences Recently I purchased a new bag, from Academy Sports and Outdoors, for my daughter's softball equipment. This particular item was not part of a separate display and was not promoted in-store. As with most of girl's and women's athletic gear, there was not specific signage promoting this product. I already knew what product I was going into the store to purchase so any in-store promotions would not have influenced this particular purchase. The equipment bag was placed in the middle of the softball and baseball section with no signage to indicate it was there. Due to the size of the bag -- which is used to carry her catcher's gear as well as other gloves, bats, and cleats -- there is no packaging associated with this equipment bag. In this store there are bags made by Easton and Wilson and I chose the Easton bag over the Wilson bag. The Easton bag is the same style and product that I was replacing and it is her preferred bag; also, the Wilson bags are not big enough to fit all of her softball equipment.
