Introduction to Marketing Final Project

MKT 113: Final Project Part I Final Submission MKT 113: Final Project Part I Final Submission Tyler Wilson Southern New Hampshire University MKT 113: Final Project Part I Final Submission The purpose of this paper is the describe my new product Puppy Paw-Sicles for the SNHU Pet Company. We are introducing our new product right in time for the summer season that will surely be a summertime hit. Every American family loves ice cream and popsicles, now their pet can enjoy one as well made specifically for them! SWOT analysis Strengths Great Quality All natural Expert employer knowledge Weaknesses Small business Just starting the business Priced hire than major retail brands To grow / expand Jobs in a small market place Grow our social media account Other name brands/ retail stores No advertising to this date Cheaper prices in larger stores. Opportunities Threats For the strengths, I will be leaning on using all-natural ingredients while also leaning on the knowledge of the ingredients with my employees. Being a small business, I find it critical that the members of the team and I have the knowledge of what is in our products and why it is a healthier alternative. As for the weakness in the business, I believe the biggest hurtle to jump is the fact that the business is just starting out. It is critical that we as a business advertise currently and swiftly in the beginning months through social media / media to get our name out along with our product. MKT 113: Final Project Part I Final Submission As for the opportunity of the business, the biggest to myself would be the opportunity to grow and expand if business is going as planned. This would allow for more products to be sold leading to expansion and growth in sales. The treats category was the toughest to come to terms with. The biggest threat to the business would be the major retail stores that sales the major name brands in treats. It is going to be a challenge in my small neighborhood to grab the attention of the community that a new business is in town and you do not need to go to the major retail stores to get your treats. The target market for Puppy Paw-Sicles will be in my hometown in Fayetteville, WV (zip code- 25840). This area is a very popular tourist visited area due to the many outdoor trails, bike trails, and the iconic New River Gauge National Park. According to Claritas website the area is inhabited by "back country folks (downscale older people) and Simple pleasures (lower midscale mature adults without kids." Due to the tourist area, along with the older adults in the area, I believe that Puppy Paw-Sicles will do very well in the geographical area. The wants and needs of this group will be using marketing tactics to target the large visitation of the area. The first marketing tactic I will try to utilize will be social media, from usin
