I have been fortunate enough to have been in several posi on in which I felt empowered.In my role as the Procurement and Inventory Manager at an oil re nery, signi cant investment was made in my professional development. The CEO designed a weeklong, immersive leadership training seminar. Managers, supervisors and leads from all loca ons and levels of the organiza on were iden edto par cipate. We were taken out of the work se ng to a hotel for a week of training involving communica on, decision makings skills, and team building, among other things. This investment and willingness to accept feedback and promote teamwork made a statement to the employees that we were valued and that the company was invested in enriching our skills and inves ng in our development.
