How do to deal with relationship challenges? What are the biggest challenges in a relationship? How do I manage your relationship? Why do I struggle with relationships? How to get through hard challenges in a relationship? People are always engaged in relationships with other individuals. These prelateships might be romantic, family or even work relationships. However, of all the relationships, the hardest relationships to maintain are romantic relationships. Several relationship experts have stated that romantic relationships are not a roller coaster, and therefore the people involved in these relationships should expect challenges once in a while (Temple). Several research studies have identified that handling the challenges in the relationship determines the nature of the relationship and the engagement of the individuals involved in the relationship. Even though relations never lack challenges, knowing of the challenges ahead of time makes one have better chances of managing and overcoming these challenges (Fay). This means that it is important to know the different types of challenges that one can expect in a relationship early enough for the relationship to withstand the challenges. The main reason why knowing the challenges in a relationship prior is that one gains the knowledge of the different ways to manage these challenges. Mitch Temple, a family and marriage therapist and the author of The Marriage Turnaround, states that no relationship lacks challenges. The most successful relationships are the ones that the couples involved know how to handle these challenges when they arise (Temple). Mitch Temple also states that it is not the responsibility of a single individual in the relationship to identify how the challenges can be managed and overcome. It is the couple's responsibility in the relationship if the solutions to challenges are to be long lasting and solve the challenges to the satisfaction of the couple (Temple). Suppose one individual is left to come up with the solutions and methods of managing the challenges. In that case, the chances are high that the methods of handling and managing these challenges will be biased and not to the satisfaction of their partner. According to several research studies, the biggest challenge in a relationship has been identified as communication. All the problems in a relationship have a common source and which is poor communication. Elaine Fantle Shimberg, the author of Blending Families, states that poor communication leads to broken relationships, families and many more problems. All these problems could have been avoided if effective communication had existed in the first place (Shimberg). Another major challenge in relationships is sex.
