Network Security and Access Control Management

To whom it may concern Jonathan Bryant CYB-310-H7185 23EW2 11/19/2023 After looking into the settings of both the Sales department and the Customer Service department. I have noticed that controls are not established. Once those adjustments are made then the Sales department will have read, write, and execute access to the Customer Service department to make sure that they are able to adjust what is needed. The repairs that were needed were to adjust the connection style from the Sales to Customer Service settings. Once the adjustments were made then I was able to write a file into the Customer Service department's computer network that all computers had access to see. What I would recommend for preventing this connection from becoming disconnected or adjusted again is having a department set up to check that the network stays safe and secure. They would be able to go into all network settings and access all computers to make sure nothing is being changed from outside the company or from inside the company. On the second issue with the internet connection for the Human Resources department. The first thing I did was check the settings on all computers to make sure they are all set to the correct network settings. After verifying everything was right, I then checked the firewall and the network settings to make sure everything was right. That is where I found that the network was not set up correctly. After readjusting the settings on the network some devices were now connecting. The others were not connecting to the network, so I had to do those manually for the connection. The reason I feel like this type of problem happened is because the network was adjusted or updated, and the device was not adjusted back to make sure all connections were correct and working right. Sometimes when it comes to network connections, they could be something simple or something requiring a lot more time. The best solution to these types of problems is to have a dedicated department to check all settings and connections for the company. With having these many connections and ports it is never a bad idea to have a department to watch and check the network of the company. Size does not matter when it comes to attacks or network problems. A statement I have said for years is that sometimes if an attacked wants a bigger company sometimes they will go after the smaller company that has a weak or no security team.
