Hello Everyone, Sberbank a Russian bank; Sberbank representatives stated in a press release that in October of 2023, it faced the most powerful distributed denial of service (DDoS) attack in recent history. Russian outlet Interfax reports that the attack reached one million requests per second (RPS) 4 times the amount than usual. They didn't find anything damaged or stolen. The bank said it managed to repel a DDoS attack that measured 450GB/sec, which was done by a botnet of 27,000 compromised devices. Identify Possible missing information from the resource that would help you prevent similar attacks in your organization. There is a lot of missing context within the article. The article doesn't explain what software was used, or how far it go (user's self-phones, computers for users, bank devices and network devices that are connected within the bank, and more). Did anything get stolen as far as users' data or bank data? Did they slow down the system to gain back door entrances, be able to remote in, throw malware where it's hard to find, and more? What kind of Dos attack was it and how to prevent it again? The article mentions they had previous attacks. There is no incentive for organizations to report these types of attacks because not only did it happen outside the United States but that would mean it can happen anywhere and at any time around the world, hiding the information just doesn't help other companies and business preventing or patching similar attack and more. There is no excuse why an organization would not report these attacks and details to prevent similar issues from happening again to themselves and others. In our evolving digital space, there will be more new and enhanced attacks. It helps if everyone works together
