Project Overview Conceived in 2006, but formally established in 2008, Husk Power Systems pioneered an off grid power generation and distribution solution to serve rural customers in Bihar, India (Husk Power Systems, 2018). With the notion to provide power generation, a four (4) man team with experienced knowledge of India and its rural villages, developed an energy solution that would provide a better quality of life that was desired by the locals. Currently, HPS is known for not only providing solar biomass systems, but also providing constant alternating current (AC) power because of these systems. HPS offers AC power at the lowest cost to households and commercial customers. Supplying AC power to rural communities are giving customers the opportunity to plug in any off-the-shelf appliances like TVs, refrigerators, and industrial machinery (Husk Power Systems, 2018). The main goal for this project is to create additional revenue to create funding for building more power generator plants over an allotted six (6) quarters. My team is proposing a solution that will create revenue utilizing waste from an internal source that can create a product that will also contribute to the innovation and increased quality of life in rural Indian villages. The future of Indian laundry is projected to take leaps in growth as technology has provided villages opportunity to use computer-controlled wet machines, special dryers and detergents and non-toxic contamination (Clean India Journal-Editor, 2018). I have selected to place focus on generating a laundry detergent that can be manufactured by Husk Power Systems (HPS), utilizing the rice husk ash from the burning of rice husk.
