Callie Theriault 2-3 Journal Villanelle: I have always been in love with the moon, I longed for nights when she would chase me home I did not want to say goodnight too soon. She was sweet, humming her luminous tune. She felt comfortable, the way she shone, I have always been in love with the moon. Time faded our love, then I met you, Moon, Masculine, but soft and, like her, like home, I did not want to say goodnight too soon. My heart leaping from my chest like a goon, That was it: this love could not be outgrown. I have always been in love with the moon. Your heart was somber, you had to make room, To begin again: let me be your home, I do not want to say goodnight too soon. From dust and ruins, our love began to bloom. We began to build a home of our own, I will always be in love with you, Moon, I'll never want to say goodnight too soon. Sonnet: You're just a girl, small and meek to the crowd. You're disheveled, upon yourself you're curled. Desperate for love, someone to be proud. Little does she know; she will hold the entire world The clouds are full, the sky is blue; then there's you, Lost and anxious, vulnerable and afraid. This moment should be bliss, you know this, don't you? Dear child, sweet thing, you will soon be betrayed That man that beside you, he is unfair, He will do away with you just like that. Need not you worry about feelings and stares, All you will need is yourself and your cat. You will always find yourself longing for love, My dear it is hard to find, even from above.
