Why did you choose those two articles? I chose articles on salmonella from the CDC's website. The articles I found were quite descriptive of what salmonella is, the symptom characteristic, and how someone gets it. They also discuss reports of individuals who have had it. One discusses how severe the danger is of getting salmonella from home or backyard kept chickens-such as transmission and/or the consequences of getting it. What elements (ideas, terms, vocabulary, connections, etc.) related to the final project did you find in the articles? With one article describing exactly who, what, where, when, and why of salmonella and the other being about the symptoms, transmission, and intricacies of outbreaks for it, I should be well covered for my final project. How might these resources be useful when completing the final project? As stated above, the CDC provided in depth, peer reviewed material that will be essential to my final project. What did you learn about the disease? I learned a bit about how deeply salmonella and poultry are linked. I guess I hadn't realized just how impactful it is on them and the humans that care for them. A major part of avoiding salmonella, and really any disease, is by washing your hands, body, equipment, and habitats. It really is as simple as that for the first line of defense.
