This course has truly been a remarkable journey, offering a wealth of enlightening topics. Among them, I found the discussion on disparities and their determinants particularly intriguing. Exploring how to quantify disease through measures like odds ratios, mortality rates, and incidence and prevalence rates has equipped me with invaluable tools for identifying epidemiological trends and patterns. Delving into the levels of prevention was another highlight for me. Personally, I believe understanding these levels is essential for everyone, as they empower us to recognize disease prevention strategies at various stages. I was fascinated to learn that many diseases can be prevented or managed at the primary and secondary levels, averting the need for tertiary intervention. The process of researching, analyzing, and synthesizing data for our final project was both challenging and rewarding. I foresee applying these skills not only in future professional endeavors but also in further academic pursuits. In both personal and professional contexts, I intend to leverage the knowledge gained from this course. Whether conducting research in a professional capacity or implementing preventive measures in daily life, I see immense value in applying the principles of disease prevention. As a future healthcare administrator, I aspire to utilize my understanding of disease measurement to guide organizations in reducing disease burden and effectively managing potential epidemic or pandemic situations. Ultimately, I hope to contribute to the collective effort in preventing and mitigating the impact of infectious diseases.
