Hand Washing and Disease Prevention

Hello Class! I'm Shelby, I live in Connecticut with my husband and two fur babies. I am taking this class to pursue my B.S. in healthcare administration and to expand my knowledge of epidemiology as it relates to the administration aspect of healthcare. I currently have some work experience in this field as I currently in a retail pharmacy. My pharmacy works related to epidemiology because in a pharmacy we give vaccines and medications to the population to prevent outbreaks of diseases The video I selected was "The simple power of hand washing" by Myriam Sidibe. This video promotes hand washing as a cost-effective way to fight and prevent against childhood diseases. This video demonstrates that frequent hand washing is the cheapest and most effective way to protect ourselves against illnesses. Hand washing with soap can reduce the impact of the flu, cholera, as we all recently learned with the current pandemic corona virus, and many other diseases. Something as small and cheap as hand washing can encourage better population.
