1. Provide a brief description of SARS, supporting your description with sources from the case.
SARS stands for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome and is a viral respiratory illness. It is part of the coronavirus family of viruses. SARS is transmitted by respiratory droplets. Symptoms include cough or difficulty breathing and fever (Epiville Chamber of Commerce: SARS, n.d.ffi.

2. Describe the patterns that can be identified in the population impacted by the SARS outbreak, citing the case to support your response.
All of patients who have died from the SARS outbreak lived in the Amory Apartment Complex. In addition to those who died, there were 70 people who came down with similar respiratory symptoms. These individuals were hospitalized at Epiville General Hospital. Two weeks prior to these 70 admissions, a gentleman had been admitted with respiratory symptoms. After coming in contact with this man, several staff members also became ill within a week of his admission (Epiville: SARS Outbreak Study 1-Data Analysis, n.d.ffi.

3. Draw conclusions about the mode of transmission of the disease based on your analysis of the disease and population.
After my analysis of the disease and population, I would conclude that SARS is spread by airborne transmission. I would also conclude it is spread by being in close contact with an infected individual due to the way it spread through the apartment complex.
