Dr. Donabedian was a physician who was not practicing; however, he came up with the Donabedian framework to allow other physicians, who were practicing a framework on how to deliver healthcare. Choosing a primary care doctor can be very daunting, as in my case, we just moved to a new state, and I had no idea where to even start looking for physicians for not only myself, but also for my entire family. When doing research, I first looked into who was closest to my home and then looked at the reviews each doctor had. I chose a primary care doctor, who had amazing reviews and was also within minutes from my home. I called the office and spoke to the front office staff, who was very friendly, and scheduled my appointment to meet my new doctor and his clinical staff. At the end of the call, the receptionist ensured that I had the address ad directions to the office. She also explained that I would have my blood drawn during this appointment, so it would be a good idea to not eat or drink prior to the scheduled date and time. For someone who works, this is great information to have, as it prevented me from having to return to the office on another day to have labs done. On the date of my appointment, I made sure to arrive early as she explained on the phone that I would have some paperwork to complete prior to meeting the doctor. The receptionist took copies of my identification and insurance card. collected my copay and completed papers and I was left to wait for the next step. After a very short wait, the nurse called me back and obtained all my vital signs where she input them into an electronic health record. The nurse also recorded all pertinent family and social history that was obtained from a form that I completed at check in. As I said previously, my new doctor is located in close proximity to my home, which is a prime location. The office was extremely clean, and the staff were very pleasant. Wait times were 3 5-1 JOURNAL: DONABEDIAN'S FRAMEWORK FOR HEALTHCARE QUALITY minimal, which at other offices I have been to, this has been an issue. When looking at the process that this particular office has, we have to start from the very first point of contact, which in my case was on the phone, when I called to schedule an appointment. In the case of my first impression of the office, I was extremely happy with the enthusiasm of the receptionist and also that she made it clear what was expected of me at the visit
