My Client is a 68 year old Vietnam veteran named Joseph, whom served during the Vietnam
War. He has struggled with mental illness since his early adult years. He seem to have a rough
time holding on to any type of employment and has not worked steadily in very long time. His
mental health status keeps him from wanting to be a part of society He was married but it only
last a very short time. He does have a daughter from tis marriage. He does not have much contact
with his daughter. Joseph lives onsite at a VA hospital in Baltimore, He does not socialize with
any of the other veterans who live in this same facility nor does he partake in any of the facility
activities they offer to the residents due to his mental disease.
Joseph does have a room to his self, due to struggles with his mental health disease, he cannot
have a roommate. The facility does worry that he may have some outburst due to his mental
illness and put other in danger. His behavior dramatically and erratically changes with load
noises, and surprise. Joseph does much better when he is left alone in his room where things are
to him normal. This helps keep the danger to himself and others around him safe from his
unpredictable behaviors.
