2 Throughout our academic and professional years, we are always told that if we enjoy what we do, our jobs will never feel like work. This has always resonated with me, and my goal is to enjoy my profession so much, that it never becomes stagnant. Thus far, I've made myself proud in staying true to this and as I continue to embark on my professional journey, I intend to live this truth. None of this would be possible without my personal value system, which consists of, integrity, respect, responsibility, kindness, and perseverance. These values have been the defining factors of my core being, both personally and professionally, posing as guides for every decision that I make. Obviously, it is not always easy to uphold such positivity, but I see value in that fight as well, and that lends to passion and character. Each of these values influences the way in which I carry myself as well as how I make decisions. When posed with a decision, whether simple or complex, I base my solution on what feels true to myself, the way it may impact those around me, and how the outcome could change future events. This logical way of thinking has been both a blessing and a curse because it has caused my perfectionist self to overthink the simple and too quickly decipher the complicated. Nonetheless, these traits have been a driving force behind my success so far. Over the last five years, my personal development has blossomed. Coming from a sales background gave me the foundation I needed to excel in customer-based positions. After styling for a large high end luxury retailer for two years, I ventured into a more niche market. After entering the world of bridal fashion, my career took off into a whirlwind of new experiences, extensive knowledge in bridal fashion and formal wear and a host of new connections. I was able to custom create my very first bridal gown within the first six months and follow it through every step of the way, from fabric to fitting to the final walk down the aisle. After just one year, I was
3 made lead stylist and given the honor to lead a team of four talented stylists. This opened a whole new portal for me, because not only did it give me the confidence to lead effectively, but I was also now able to see my full potential and recognize that my future was right here within these gowns. After being promoted to lead stylists, I developed an array of skills more in line with management, such as conflict resolution, problem solving, administrative aspects and most importantly, team building. These newfound skills and knowledge have certainly opened my eyes to new opportunities. In the next three to five years, I see myself becoming an Assistant Buyer
