Valerie Lopez Mary Sanders MGT 200 November 25, 2023 5-3 Project Two: Team Management Plan A team management plan is a critical tool for ensuring seamless team integration and effective leadership. This plan will outline the theories and practices that will guide the leadership of the newly formed team. Understanding team dynamics is crucial before creating a plan to lead the new team. The merger of the two teams might impact group behavior and performance of the larger team. The characteristics that may impact team dynamics include Personality Traits, Skills and Expertise, Cultural Background, and Work Style. The personality traits of team members can significantly impact team dynamics. For example, introverted individuals may prefer to work independently, while extroverted individuals may thrive in group settings. The skills and expertise of team members can also impact team dynamics. Team members with complementary skills can work together effectively, while those with overlapping skills may compete for the same tasks. The cultural background of team members can influence their communication styles, work ethics, and attitudes towards teamwork. The work style of team members, such as their preferred methods of communication and their approach to problem-solving, can also impact team dynamics. These characteristics can have both positive and negative impacts on group behavior and performance. Some Positive Impacts will be diverse personality traits, skills, and cultural
backgrounds can lead to a variety of perspectives, fostering creativity and innovation. Complementary skills can enhance team performance by allowing team members to specialize in what they do best. The Negative Impacts is Personality clashes, competition for tasks, and cultural misunderstandings can lead to conflict within the team. Differences in work styles can also lead to communication issues and inefficiencies. In the next steps, we will evaluate theories and technologies to determine which will best support the team and its specific needs. We will also provide examples of how the selected theory and technology will be used in various situations. There are several theories that can guide team leadership. Here are two theories I will be comparing to determine how they will support leadership. The two are Situational Leadership Theory and Transactional Leadership Theory. Situational Leadership Theory is a theory suggests that the most effective leadership style depends on the situation at hand. The leader adjusts their style based on the team's readiness and ability to perform tasks. Transactional Leadership Theory is a theory that focuses on the role of supervision, organization, and group performance. Leaders promote compliance by followers through both rewards and punishments. For the purpose of leading our team I believe the Situational Leadership Theory is most appropriate. This theory supports cohesive team dynamics as it allows for flexibility in leadership styles based on the team's needs at any given time. It positively impacts group behavior and performance by ensuring that the leadership style is always tailored to the team's current situation. The Situational Leadership Theory can be applied in various situations. For instance, in an environment where team efficiency is critical to the company's
