My value system states I am flighty and more suitable for rapidly changing tasks where I don't have to see the end of it. In the past ten years, I've worked as an End-of-Lease computer technician at a company out of Cleveland, Ohio. It helped me understand in full what I wanted to do with my life by introducing me to corporate infrastructure for work in I.T., and that is to be a computer support technician. The specific job I would like to pursue is a Computer Support Technician. I find the task of fixing broken things to be a fascinating and interesting job. The role I usually take on a team is initiator-contributor, and it relates to this job by being a hands-on position where you contribute. I'm a hard worker, I'm quick-witted, and always dedicated to learning more about a subject. These relate to the job because, when working in I.T., you don't really memorize everything you need to do the job. A lot of the job is research. My SMART Goal for personal growth is to become more task oriented instead of ambivalent within a year by trying to force myself to finish tasks. It would better help me get tasks done instead of leaving them incomplete. My SMART Goal for professional growth is to get my degree in a reasonable time frame by completing my assignments in a reasonable time frame. It would better help me feel secure about my knowledge as an I.T. Professional and get paid more. These two goals compliment each other by the personal goal making it easier to achieve the professional goal of getting my degree. I plan to become more task oriented instead of ambivalent by trying to force myself to finish tasks. I will do this by removing all distractions in the room and not allowing myself to get up and leave. My professional goal is to get my degree. I plan to achieve this by using all the tools at my disposal like drop-in tutoring. By completing both of these goals, I will be better suited for the type of workforce I plan to enter where professionalism is key.
