Navigating Leadership Styles and Team Dynamics in Mergers

1 Merging the two companies will come with its complications. When there are two different styles of leadership and expectations clashing, it can lead to both positive and negative outcomes. LTC has a lot of high energy, high motivation employees. Theres a lot of ideas being thrown around and creativity being produced at high levels. Based on the profiles it seems that while there is a lot of energy going happening, it can be hard to get a result from those ideas. On the other hand, at STC there's a lot of "worker bee" employees. What I mean by this is that while they might not be the most outgoing or energetic, they can get the work done that needs to be done. In addition to that, they also have employees that may not seem as reliable due to their remote position. A positive with merging these two companies is that the ideas and energy that LTC brings, STC can harness that and make the ideas come to fruition. In addition to that, the more ambitious employees from STC will be able to show their skills and have a better chance of being promoted because they will fit it with the high energy people from LTC. This would also be an opportunity for some of the introverted employees to learn better social skills in a professional team setting. If not, they are free to do their work as they wish. If there is a set mediator at meetings, let's say Portia, she can break down ideas from LTC into gameplans for STC. I chose Portia because of her experience with STC, but also because she is highly ambitious, similar to most of the LTC employees. A negative that comes with this merger is that having office employees and remote employees can lead to a lack of communication throughout each department. While there are pros and cons to each method, having strong communication between the two is crucial to ensure consistency. Another negative to this is that some of the more ambitious employees from LTC might not be able to effectively communicate with STC, due to a difference in personality type. 2 Some of the more introverted and complacent employees will find it difficult to match the energy. I feel that this will cause LTC employees to not take the STC employees as seriously. Not having everyone on the same page can stall production and lead to interdepartmental resentment. The first theory that comes to mind is the bureaucratic theory. This works because in this situation each person can be assigned their work based on their strengths so that they can be the most efficient when working. Also, each person or department would have a superior that they would report to. The next theory I think of is human relation. It is important to have a dialogue in the workplace. If an employee feels that they can't talk to their superior, it can affect productivity. I would want every employee to
