Hello All!
In reviewing the Chipotle case as well as their key challenges and future growth opportunities, the sustainable goal I am proposing is for them to dive back into the breakfast arena by adding one simple protein, sustainably sourced eggs, to their menu. The breakfast offerings should be kept simple, such as a built to order breakfast bowl or burrito incorporating items they already offer on their menu like, meat proteins, veggies, and sauces. This offering will attract new customers as well as increase orders amongst existing customers, thus leading to increased revenue.
The environmental factor that influenced my decision in writing this goal is social responsibility (people). Most people like breakfast, but fast options are generally limited to overly processed foods (think McDonald's or Burger King) or foods that are high in carbs and sugar (think Dunkin' Donuts and Starbucks) most of which are not good for you. Chipotle offering a warm, wholesome/healthy, sustainably sourced breakfast option at the speed their restaurants are known for, answers the need most have in the morning, but do not have the time to make themselves. Furthermore, the addition of this new offering will not add much to Chipotle's expenses while staying true to their goal of using sustainably sourced ingredients and will increase their revenue. Which will help meet the needs of Wall Street's demands.
